ADHD Management
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) affects a significant number of Australians across all ages and genders, and for many, access to ongoing care and medication management has historically been challenging. Our Coogee GP clinic supports patients with an existing ADHD diagnosis by providing continuing prescriptions for ADHD medications, making it more convenient to manage your care locally.
ADHD Management in Coogee — Ongoing Support for Your Treatment Plan
Our GPs are accredited as ADHD Continuation Prescribers under the NSW Health framework introduced in September 2025. This means we can continue prescribing Schedule 8 psychostimulant medications — including methylphenidate (Ritalin, Concerta) and lisdexamfetamine (Vyvanse) — for patients who:
- Have a confirmed ADHD diagnosis from a specialist (psychiatrist or paediatrician)
- Are stable on their current medication
- Meet NSW Health criteria for continued prescribing
Please note: Our GPs are not able to provide a new ADHD diagnosis or initiate stimulant medication for the first time. Diagnosis and initial prescribing must be completed by an accredited specialist. We can, however, provide a referral to an appropriate specialist to begin this process.

- Documentation of your specialist diagnosis
- Details of your current medication, dose, and prescribing specialist
- Any recent specialist correspondence or review letters
